Data privacy is paramount when using an app that contains personal content. Memorizer is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data. Our goal is to help you better organize, find and share your memories, while respecting your privacy. That’s why we’ve written this Privacy Policy to provide you with transparency about what we do.
This policy applies to your use of the Memorizer app or other services offered by 1SPIRE SAS (“Memorizer”, “the service”, “we”).
1. About us
Memorizer helps you store, find and share everyday memories. From Station F, we develop the best mobile experience using cutting-edge image, barcode and text recognition technologies.
If you forget the name of a book you read last year or that restaurant you wanted to try in Lille or Marseille—Memorizer is for you.
We go further: Memorizer helps you train your memory using your own memories.
Your memories are yours. Only your chosen friends can access the memories you allow.
2. Important Information
- Data controller: 1SPIRE SAS
- To create your account: name, birthdate, phone number
- Profile picture: optional personalization
- Photo gallery access: optional but enhances the experience
- Cross-border data transfer may occur (see sections 10, 11, 15)
- We delete your data after 12 months of inactivity
- You may file a complaint with the CNIL (France) or your local EU authority
You may access, correct or delete your data by contacting us at contact@memorizer.ai.

We collect:
- Information you provide
- Information generated by usage
- Information from third parties
4. Information You Provide
Includes: name, email, phone, notes, photos, IP, location (via device or images)
During registration:
We authenticate via SMS code (no password required).
Third-party logins (Google, Facebook, Apple) may provide basic profile info.
Photo Gallery & Memories:
You can allow gallery access or add memories via camera/barcode/manual input.
Address Book:
Encrypted phone numbers only. No human can access contact data.
Other:
Chat or email communications.
5. Information From Usage
Examples:
- Memory usage and categories (e.g., screenshot, recipe, book)
- Device data: model, battery, Wi-Fi SSIDs (temp), OS, IP, ad ID
- Mobile network, headphones, language
6. Data From Third Parties
We collect:
- Your data from your contacts (if they grant access)
- Info from partners (to personalize experience)
7. How We Use Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the service
- Contact you (e.g., support)
- Analyze usage by location, age, gender (anonymously)
- Study memory behavior over time
- Customize features (quizzes, friend suggestions)
- Prevent abuse or spam
- Send notifications (can be disabled)
- Enforce Terms of Use
8. Legal Bases for Use
We rely on:
- Contract (to deliver the service)
- Legitimate interest (to improve product, support)
- Consent (gallery, location, contacts)
- Legal obligations (e.g., subpoena)
9. International Transfers
We may store or process your data outside your country, including in the U.S.
Transfers are covered by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- EU–US Privacy Shield (where applicable)
10. Your Choices
You can:
- Edit profile, privacy, search visibility
- Link/unlink third-party accounts
- Make memories public/private
- Close your account (deletes data and memories)
- Download a copy of your data (on request)
11. How We Share Data
We share with:
- Friends: only if you allow it, and per memory
- Affiliates: within 1SPIRE SAS group
- Service providers: analytics, hosting, support
- Legal authorities: if required
- Other users: via address book if they already know you
- Buyers: in case of a merger or acquisition
12. Third-party Services
We may link or integrate with third-party tools.
We are not responsible for their privacy practices—please read their policies.
13. Data Retention
We retain data:
- As long as your account is active
- Delete after 12 months of inactivity
- Or on request (email us)
14. Your Controls
You can:
- Toggle visibility of each memory
- View/edit/delete your personal data
- Delete your account via app or email
- Restore your account within 30 days
- Request data export
- Object to certain uses (e.g. analytics)
15. Children’s Privacy
Service not intended for users under:
- 13 years globally
- 15 in France, 16 in Germany, etc.
We do not knowingly collect children’s data.
16. Transfers Outside EU – Example Table
We share data with service providers in the USA. Examples:
- Analysis: USA - analytics providers
- Storage: USA - cloud servers
- Customer support: USA - helpdesk
- Mapping: USA - map provider
17. Policy Changes
We may update this policy.
If updates are significant, you may be notified.
Continued use = acceptance of new version.
